The Can:Do Caper is open to teams of four. All participants must be 18 or over on 18 October, 2013.
Corporate and Community Relations Team employees (including volunteers) of Deaf Can:Do or Can:Do 4Kids are not eligible to enter the race.
Entry to the race can only be made online via the official form; and registrations will not be deemed as accepted until the entry fee has been received and processed by the Can:Do Group.
Entry into the race is currently limited to the event's capacity of 35 teams. The number of teams may change at the event coordinator's discretion.
Participation in the race for each team is dependent upon the team reaching their fundraising goal of a minimum of $1,750 and submitting it to the Can:Do Group by 5pm on 11 October, 2013. The Can:Do Group can still accept payments after this date but they will not be included in the team's final fundraising amount for the race and therefore will not be taken into consideration when awarding prizes.
Race Terms and Conditions
The Participant agrees to adhere to the rules of the Can:Do Caper, which will be set out on the first day of the event, and are part of the condition of entry into the race. Failure to adhere to the rules of the Caper will result, at the sole discretion of the Can:Do Group, in disqualification from the race and any claim or right to the prize(s) offered.
Participants understand and acknowledge that some instructions, reminders and other useful information will be sent to the email addresses supplied by participants. It is the participants responsibility to supply a correct email address and to check it regularly for updates and information about the Caper. Participants without a working email account may be disadvantaged
Each Participant must act responsibly throughout the Event. Each Participant must obey traffic rules, and each must look after their own security and safety. The Can:Do Group accepts no responsibility for loss or injury occurring during the Event other than for loss or injury proved to be the result of negligence on the part of the Can:Do Group. Participants will be expected to be responsible for their own health and safety.
Each team must raise the minimum fundraising amount by 11 October, 2013. All monies raised in the process of the application and the Event will become the property of Deaf Can:Do and Can:Do 4Kids and are required to be submitted within 14 days of receipt. There will be no refund of monies in any circumstances.
By submitting an application, each applicant agrees to release, discharge and hold harmless Deaf Can:Do, Can:Do 4Kids and Can:Do Group from all claims and damages arising out of his / her participation in the application process or the Event itself, and to have his/her name, voice and likeness used at the Can:Do Group's discretion as part of promotion of Can:Do Group or future events.
If for any reason a team member is unable to compete on the day of the race then the Can:Do Group will allow a substitute participant.
Teams will require the following items to take part in the race: a current map of South Australia, a vehicle suitable for the entire team of four (fuel is to be supplied by the participants), a first aid kit and at least two working mobile phones (preferably on different networks).
A team is comprised of four adults 18 years or over on 18 October, 2013.
At the event coordinator's discretion, substitute, photo-shopped or joke photos may be accepted for photo challenges instead of the actual items you are supposed to photograph but will be awarded less points.
If a team registration fee is paid for by a business then that business is the owner of the team and may decide who will participate on the day of the race. Whoever pays the registration fee is viewed by Can:Do Group as the owner of the team.
New teams must have at least one team member present at the pre-race information session.
